Councillors win M65 safety review

Local Liberal Democrat councillors have helped win a safety review of the M65.

Fence and Higham representative Brian Newman called for the review at December's meeting of Pendle Council. He asked that Lancashire County Council and National Highways sort out lighting and flooding issues on the motorway.

Pendle Council joined Burnley and Hyndburn councils in calling for the review.

National Highways has agreed to review safety between junctions 1 and 10, the sections that it's responsible for.

“Lancashire County Council must review safety from junction 10 to Colne,” said Councillor Newman. “They should do this in conjunction with the National Highway review.”
