Our Liberal Democrat Prospective MP Afzal Anwar is angry that some MPs have protested about having to pay back their expenses.
Afzal is appalled by the way these MPs have responded to the notice to pay back the money, and he is calling on MPs to accept that they should never have claimed for many items in the first place.
"I am heart-broken by the current situation in Westminster. MPs work for the general public and when the public want their money back MPs should just hand it over, something which our MPs are finding very hard."
"The Prime Minister of the UK has to pay money back. In my view this just shows that the standard of our MPs is falling, and that new local hardworking and trustable MPs are needed in Parliament."
"If the people of Pendle give me the honour to represent them in Parliament, I would only claim the bare minimum in allowances, would communicate with my employers (the general public) with my own money, and would never flip properties for the purpose of claiming more in expenses."
"A hardworking and honest option will be available to the people of Pendle at the next election and I hope they will take it by electing me as their MP."
